Our machines are hybrid AAD joined. A user with an autopiloted Intune managed laptop (laptop 1) experienced a suspected hardware failure. Her SSD was moved to another similar model laptop (laptop 2). She's been working fine for a couple of months. The original laptop (laptop 1) that was presumed to have a hardware failure was later chosen to be set up for someone else. It contains the SSD that was originally in laptop 2. The technician went to Endpoint Manager, located laptop 1 by serial number and clicked fresh start. Laptop 2 receives the fresh start command instead of laptop 1, and the user's computer starts reinstalling Windows while she was using it.
I'm not trained on Intune, but I'm guessing this is due to the device ID of the Windows install still being connected to the original laptop serial number. I'm wondering if this is...
